ChelPipe Group is the Sole Russian Supplier of Large-Bore Pipes for the Gas-Collecting Network under Yamal LNG Project

ChelPipe Group has supplied around 11,000 t of single-seam large-bore pipes for OAO Yamal LNG — OAO NOVATEK, Chinese CNPC and French Total's joint project for the development of the South Tambey gas condensate field in the Yamal Peninsula. The pipes from Chelyabinsk will be used in the construction of the first stage of the gas-collecting network of pipelines from the well to the gathering station.

White metallurgists are the first in Russia to master the production of non-standard sized single-seam welded pipes: relatively small diameter of 530 mm, with a considerable wall thickness pf 25, 28 and 28.5 mm. All the LB pipes were manufactured from X70 strength class steel at Vysota 239 plant. To release these products, ChelPipe Group in cooperation with YUZHNIIGIPROGAZ Design Institute developed the specifications. A number of Vysota 239 facilities were upgraded to match the production of the unique pipes. To date, all the necessary quantity of the LB pipes have been shipped to the consumer.

ChelPipe Group has a successful record of partnership with Yamal LNG. Each year, the white metallurgists supply OCTG pipes to equip gas wells at the South Tambey gas condensate field. The Pipeline Bends plant (part of ChelPipe's oil service division within Rimera Group) will provide the project with 650 bends dia. 530 mm, wall thickness 28.5 and 44 mm. The company expects further participation in Yamal LNG tenders and is ready to execute orders, both integrated and sophisticated.
