“The life of any, even the most successful person, includes the moments of joy and sadness, elation and recession that change one another. When we feel joy, we feel elation and people are attracted to us. Being under stress, we are unconsciously attracted to those who give us optimism. Alexander Deineko was the person of this type. I met him in the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys in 1967. We studied at different departments. On the first years of study we socialized mainly with students of the same faculty, but Sasha was a lucky exception. It helped me to find a friend for years to come.

Rarely, the first impressions of a person are preserved long – for the whole of my life. His wide smile and catching laughter helped to find Sasha immediately among the crowd of students in the corridor, Institute’s yard or in the middle of the working day in the construction brigade. He could “fire up”, as many say now, but he fired up not for the sake of pointless joy. He did it due to his natural kindness, the desire to share good mood and optimism with others. He was full of joy and optimism. Probably, the reason for it is quite earthly – he met and fell in love with Natalya, who suited him perfectly in tastes, character, and temper. They were two halves that found each other to be connected forever.

I saw almost all regions of the country, but one of them was special. I saw Southern Urals thanks to Sasha. Mountains with forests and wild animals, the lake Bannoe, Magnitogorsk city – when all these things are shown by the person who was born at this place and loves it dearly, it is remembered forever.

We have not met often after graduation from the Institute. Each of us pursued his own career. My work was connected with durable business trips abroad and I could not see close people often.

Alexander Dmitrievich followed his career and became a famous and respected person. Fortunately, we often saw each other in the State Duma lately, on the conference and the anniversary. I always felt that close person is beside me and I could call him any time and find a couple of hours among haste of life to socialize and discuss all questions. That was very important. This friendship becomes the basis to rely on and you can feel it only when it disappears. The loss of such person is huge.

I am just one of the persons who mourns for Alexander Dmitrievich. He left his imprint on every person and it is huge on me. I know it will stay this way forever.”
