VSW Launches New Pipe Range for Export

Vyksa Steel Works (VSW Open Joint Stock Company, based in the Nizhny Novgorod region, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK Joint Stock Company, Moscow) has produced the first batch of 355.6 mm diameter pipes for oil and gas pipelines. The pipes are to be delivered to foreign clients. The pipes, which have a wall thickness ranging from 5.6 mm to 12.5 mm, were produced on the modernized mill 203-530 in VSW’s third workshop. They were made from carbon steel grades produced by the Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, based in the Nizhny Novgorod region, part of OMK). “Launching a new range of pipes is another step towards a closer integration between the rolling and pipe facilities at CRC and VSW. Owing to a synchronized technological chain, we can promptly deliver the pipe products to our clients, meeting the most stringent requirements. This is especially important in the oil and gas pipes segment which is developing rapidly today,” said Sergey Filippov, VSW’s Managing Director. VSW’s new pipe range will be used for constructing main oil and gas pipelines in temperate climate zones. They are mostly intended for export and will be in demand in European Union countries and in the Middle East. http://www.omk.ru/en/OMK/Press-center1/News?subject=7c6e3513-8006-4c4d-84aa-dde15b3f9c4f
